Dozens gathered for a candlelight vigil in memory of Sgt. Ramon Gutierrez at East Aldine District on January 27, 2022. He lost his life on January 24 while directing traffic along Sam Houston Parkway in northeast Harris County. Sgt. Gutierrez, 45, was a supervisor in the Vehicular Crimes Division. He joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2002 and previously served as a detention officer, patrol deputy, and accident investigator.
